Meet the Board
Tanya is the founder of The Peyty Foundation. She created the organization in 2016 in memory of her daughter Peyton who passed away in 2014 at the age of 5 1/2. Peyton suffered an extensive brain injury resulting from intrauterine strokes only days prior to her birth which left her with multiple disabilities and developmental delays, Tanya’s world revolved around being Peyton’s full time care giver! During their journey with Peyton, Tanya and her husband (Adam) came to notice that it was not always easy for people to get equipment needed for their child. After Peyton’s death, the McHale’s knew they wanted to do something to keep Peyton’s memory alive and make a difference in the lives of other children like Peyton. Today, Tanya is dedicated to her role in The Peyty Foundation and helping others as well as being a mom to Peyton’s 2 little sisters, Aria and Addison.
Every child has the right to learn was the idea that got Richard into education, but the idea that every child has a right to learn in the least restricted environment is what got him to The Peyty Foundation. Currently in his third year of teaching science in a school district in Chester County, PA, Richard uses his experience from being a geoscientist to encourage students in the many fields of science. While dating, his now wife, Richard gained experience in working with students from multiple backgrounds and with various capabilities. He grew a passion for enabling children to use whatever qualities they possess and turn them into tools for optimal success both in the classroom and their environment.
Brianna Hampson is a Speech and Language Pathologist that is passionate about what she does. She has worked with many populations of people within the Speech and Language Pathology scope of practice; however, up until working with Peyton, she did not want to work with kids. Peyton inspired Brianna to use her passion in a different way and challenged her to apply her gifts specifically in the areas of working with students with exceptionalities. Since working with Peyton, Brianna has worked with two separate school districts, using her gifts specifically in the Multiple Disability Support classrooms, enabling children to express their voice and challenging them to communicate their wants, needs and desires with the world, not just those surrounding them. Brianna defines her job as an advocate first, therapist second. These children deserve to have the fullest life they can and nothing, especially money, should prevent that. When the McHales confronted Brianna about being the Director for Recruitment it was a perfect fit and she looks forward to meeting the many kids the Foundation will be able to support. As Director for recruitment, Brianna is responsible for the application process of the children and their families, as well as working with Liaison to reach out to families that may need the support of the Foundation. She looks forward to also recruiting additional support and partners to aid our families in the help and support they may need past a physical aide. Currently, Brianna lives in Montgomery County with her husband Richard and Great Dane, Elwell.
At the time that the idea for the Peyty Foundation was being formed, Misty was looking for a cause to be part of that would feed her heart and soul. She and Tanya were childhood best friends, so when Tanya decided to start the foundation in Peyton's memory, she knew she wanted to be involved. The decision to become Director of Social Media was a simple one. As a Head Start teacher and mother of four, it's no surprise that she wants to devote part of her time to helping children get the equipment they need. She is responsible for sending crucial information to you, the supporters, and making sure the Peyty Foundation grows a wonderful public image.
A movement to “Pay It Forward” was the inspiration that brought Holly to the foundation. Her search to find a way to do her part in a world so lost and in need of support led her to Tanya. Being a mother of two children with a background in foster care and adoption feeds the passion to make a difference. Holly’s energetic, friendly personality makes her an excellent director of Liaison. She supports the foundation through partnering with others to create a relationship that supports multiple families and organizations.
